The Queer Cyberpunk's Guide to Tabletop RPGs
A downloadable zine
Note (27/08/2024): After 5 years, my initial foray into TTRPGs has been remastered with updated layout, new artwork, and new sections featuring systems released after the original printing! Here's to another 5 years of queer rebellious joy.!
Note (02/06/2020): Thank you to everyone who has downloaded The Queer Cyberpunk's Guide so far! As a matter of valuing the huge amount of time I put into this project, this zine will now be offered at $8, rather than Pay-What-You-Want, but for those who are unable to afford it, I have a pool of community copies that are free to download.
The Queer Cyberpunk's Guide to Tabletop RPGs is a vibrant melange of manifestos, practical advice and system-agnostic resources to help run cyberpunk-themed TTRPGs with rebellion and minorities at the forefront, with intrigue and mystery and with community and inner strength.
I wrote this not only to share what I've learned across my years of play but to empower others to embrace their queerness and community in their own play.
Covered in the Queer Cyberpunk's Guide:
- The mandatory front-of-zine manifesto
- A fill-in-yourself system-neutral character sheet
- Encouragements on working with a community an and out of game
- How to write and run mysteries in TTRPGs
- A randomised character generator using tarot cards
- Character profile photography to use in your own games
- A selection of vibrant and silly NPC concepts
- Nano-fused 'last hurrah' effects for slain Cy_Borg player characters
- Suggestions on light and fun cyberpunk RPGs to try
- Two one-page RPGs
